Rainy day. 175

Holbien Artist's watercolour on 190 gsm paper

At this time,I don't know how to describe my new works.
[Blame my poor english speaking skill.)

I would like to paint a rainy day with some fresh-looking plants. [such as clovers ...and four leaf clover.]

I really love it owo (just like everyone else). But there's something in the legs and shoes that seems kind of odd. Like they're too round (well at least for me).
But in general it's lovely.

Excuse my poor English...

I just love rain and plants, so this is a natural win for me. Neat shading and color patterns and such. Good gosh I wish I could use colored pencils or watercolor or any color half as well as you.

I ended up following my way to your page, wondering what sort of artist chose to watch me... and my! I'm so glad I did! Each and everyone of your works are so very very beautiful! I'm in love with your soft but still bright and transparent colors! Your works seem to literally glow!

And out of them all, I loved this one the most! How I love rain! And you've captured it so perfectly. With the girl smaller than the leaves, it all looks so magical and like a scene straight out of some fairyland! (Or atleast looks like how I always imagined fairies would be sitting under those clumps of clovers in my garden! X'D )

very cute, and very sweet
it kind of looks like the leaf on the clover stem is going in the girl's mouth, though.
i like how the character is a bright spot among the blue and green.

pretty cute, I adore your work! ^_^

I love the colors in this, the way the greens blend into each really captures that rainy day look you were going for. And those clouds are too magnificent for words, they are so amazingly textured.

i don't know what it is about this one that really stood out for me, but it did. there was just something about it that i really liked. maybe it's the tones? maybe it's the brush strokes? i dunno, i just really love this picture!

I really really adore this picture. It makes me feel so small though, and a little bit lonely.

I love the way you colored the leaves and the sky, but the girl's hair seems very flat on her head.
Pinkember Featured By Owner Feb 6, 2008   Photographer
It seems to me like the picture is saying that it's raining and pouring, but there's still a silver lining to this rain. It doesn't look really sad because it isn't very dark. Now I'm not sure if you wanted a sad pic or a gloomy-but-it's-gonna-be-ok pic. Either way, the sky is amazing.

Hi, i'm new to watercoloring and i want to get better. i have some few question which i hope you don't mind ^^; anyways, first question- do you dip the brush in water then paint or did you already put water in the paint and just use it from there? cuz i have no clue how i should even begin painting xD i was wondering whether you already prechose all your colors, put water in them to make them moist, and then paint. second- if you do put water in the paint, how much do you put? and third- do you use acrylic type paint or those hard paint (or does it matter)? and how do you choose the skin color? cuz i have problem painting skin. man... did i ask too many question? <--lol ^^; sorry
emperpep Featured By Owner Dec 9, 2007   General Artist
I'm not good in speaking english but I will answer your questions as best as I can^^;

you can ask me more on MSN

I dip brush in water then paint.

if you want to make ''wet in wet'' effect just put the wet paint or pure water on the paper first

don't put too muchhh water on the paper or the page will become buckle and It will be harder to control

I also use acrylic and oil paint but not in the watercolour work, If I want to use opaque colour in watercolour work, I will use gouache colour instead.

I will tell you the names of colour I used for painting skin.

''Jaune brillant no.1 and no.2'' [Holbien artist watercolour]

and you can dilute brunt sienna[a golden brown] as a skin colour.

when this colour was diluted, it will give a nice skin tone and you can use pure burnt sienna to paint the shade of skin too.:)

If you have a lot of questions to ask, please come and asking me on msn:)
